Clearsulting gives back: 3 years of UStrive

We’re excited to share that we have renewed our partnership with UStrive for the third year in a row! Keep reading to learn more about our collaboration, why it’s important, and how you can get involved.

What is UStrive?

UStrive is a virtual platform that connects mentors to students with financial need across the globe. To help mentees achieve their college and career goals, mentors assist with editing college application essays and resumes, preparing budgets, exploring career interests, applying for internships and jobs, and more.

Why it’s important

Did you know that students with higher family incomes are more likely to complete a degree than their lower-income peers with similar high school GPAs? In fact, only 11% of students who come from the bottom quarter for income earn their bachelor’s degree within 6 years.

Additionally, college graduates who grew up in low-income households earn 66% of what their peers from higher income backgrounds earn at the start of their careers, and by mid-career that number falls to 50%. That’s why UStrive provides mentoring support, social capital, and access to college and job opportunities for free to any student who needs them.

How we help

Through our partnership with UStrive, our team members help students in need in one of two ways:

1. Mentorship: Providing support and guidance to those navigating educational and career decisions. Team members can sign up as a mentor on UStrive’s portal anytime to match and work with a mentee.
2. Resume and essay reviews: Reading and providing feedback for college essays, resumes, and cover letters. This is a volunteering option made available to all employees, including international and remote, during our firm-wide quarterly volunteering days.
